We’re quadrupling our capacity to enable continued growth

Hot on the heels of last week’s Q2 update, we’ve some more exciting news about how we’re investing in creating the very best service for you.

Today I’m delighted to announce that Krystal is going to be the anchor tenant in Netwise East, a brand-new cutting-edge data centre in South Crescent, East London.

A hosting provider is only as good as its data centres, so as we’ve grown we’ve made sure we’ve always invested in the best. Netwise is one of our key trusted suppliers and we’ve built a brilliant working relationship over the years.

Greater performance, MUCH greater capacity!

This new site will give us 250 square metres of usable space, enough for us to quadruple our current Netwise footprint to a whopping 112 cabinets! When we first started at Netwise Central in 2016 we only took 3 cabinets so have gone 37X fold in 7 years. This gives us plenty of space to grow Krystal and Katapult client usage, now and for the foreseeable future.

Netwise powers all its data centres with 100% renewable energy, and security and connectivity are market-leading, too. Check out our blog post on the move to Netwise East for more information and head to the Krystal Discord community for some bonus extra pictures and to join the discussion!

PS - we’re upgrading everyone to Katapult - for free!

As part of our migration to East, we’re also taking the opportunity to deprecate all of our old hardware. We’ve purchased nearly £1 million pounds worth of new hardware for Katapult, our in-house public cloud. This will provide a massive performance improvement for clients and their visitors. We’ll send around more information regarding a migration schedule in due course.

This is an exciting major project for the company and a significant upgrade for Krystal and Katapult clients. I look forward to updating you on our progress as we go along.

As always, please get in touch if you'd like to talk.
