We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Krystal Hosting who, as some of you may know, have just acquired The Design Mechanics after their decision to cease trading. We understand that this may come as a shock, however please rest assured that you're in very capable hands and after recently celebrating our 15th Birthday along with hosting nearly 200,000 websites, we have a lot of experience to ensure your transition to Krystal is handled smoothly.
Our values and ethos are very similar to The Design Mechanics and we're confident that you'll be happy with us. We offer phone support during business hours (and emergency support on business hosting plans out of hours too) and 24/7 live chat. If you'd like to discuss any particular requirements please get in touch, you can also reply to this email.
Your website will remain online: Hosting services and domain registrations already paid for will be honoured until their current renewal date. Renewals will be handled by us, with pricing detailed below. Nothing will be migrating yet, we'll contact you with details about moving onto our platform in the future. We will however be taking care of that on your behalf.
We've setup an client account for you: You can now login with your email address at https://krystal.uk/client/ - from here you'll be able to manage your hosting services, domain names, contacts and card details if you'd like automatic billing (see below). You will need to initiate a password reset.
We'd like to get to know you: We currently only know your email address and some details about your website. We need you to provide us with your full contact details which you can do easily at https://krystal.uk/client/account/profile/ (once you've reset your password using the link above)
Add a card for uninterrupted service: most clients chose to pay automatically by card. If that sounds like something you'd like too, simply add a card via your client area and ensure your address is accurate. We also accept manual payments via PayPal and Bank Transfers. Remember: we won't be billing you until your next renewal and will raise an invoice 7 days in advance.
The Design Mechanics previous plan to increase hosting costs from £125 to £450 per year have since been halted. As part of the acquisition, we have opted to move your hosting onto our fully-featured entry business hosting plan, “Sapphire”, which costs £299.99 + VAT per year. The Sapphire plan is considerably more feature rich than your previous hosting and given that it costs a lot less we're hopeful that you'll be happy! A summary of the plans;

If you're happy with what the Sapphire plan includes, no action is needed on your part. However if you wish to switch to any other plan, please do let us know. If we do not hear from you before we start the migration to our infrastructure, you will be moved onto one of our premium business servers.
For those of you who are domain only customers, the above information will not apply to yourselves and only the domain name you held with TDM will be imported into your new Krystal account.
